The Korg Volca Beats is a highly compact, analog rhythm machine/drum synth that provides a powerful analog drum sound with the PCM sound engine and an integrated 16-step sequencer. The PCM sound engine generates unique drum sounds such as Clap, Claves, Agogo and Crash, with a rough lo-fi sound reminiscent of ’80s synths.
Analog Drum Sounds
The Volca Beats provides a range of analog drum sounds including Kick, Snare, Hi Tom, Lo Tom, Closed Hi Hat, and Open Hi Hat, with a powerful analog tone that captures the warmth and grit of vintage synthesizers. The PCM sound engine also covers for the sounds that can’t be generated by the analog circuitry, providing added flexibility and versatility.
Electribe’s Step Sequencer
The step sequencer is borrowed from the Korg Electribe and features 16 step keys, a stutter mode, and Active Step and Step Jump functions, allowing you to create new rhythms and irregular patterns. The internal memory provides enough space to store up to 8 sequence patterns.
Portable Design, Versatile Connectivity
The highly compact design of the Volca Beats makes it portable, with integrated speakers for sound design on the move. The vintage-style Sync jack allows you to link multiple Volca units for synchronised playback, and the MIDI IN connector provides expanded functionality with a DAW. The unit can be powered by AA batteries or via a mains plug.
