The Nord Wave 2 61-Key Performance Synthesizer is a versatile and powerful synthesizer that combines four independent synthesizers into one unit. With its exceptional layering capabilities, high-quality audio, and extensive range of features, the Wave 2 is perfect for creating unique and complex sounds for live performances, recordings, and productions.
Four Synths in One
The Nord Wave 2 61-Key Performance Synthesizer combines four independent synthesizers into one unit, allowing you to layer classic waveforms and samples for unique and complex sounds. The OLED displays for program and oscillator sections make it easy to monitor your sounds, and the hands-on effects are instantly tweakable for maximum flexibility.
Layer Section
The Wave 2 features a Program Layer section with faders for easy control of each layer’s volume and pan. These layers can be played independently or simultaneously for unique synth sounds. The Layer section also provides features for quick layer focus, pan control, solo, and multi-editing. With the Group feature, you can group two, three, or four layers and process them together through filters, envelope, arpeggiator, LFO, and effect settings for even more complex sounds.
Four Oscillator Modes
The Wave 2’s oscillator section for each of the four layers offers four modes: Analog, Wavetable, FM, and Samples. The categories can be browsed through the intuitive category mode, and the Oscillator Control feature provides additional parameters for shape, sync, or detune. The Oscillator section also includes a powerful multi-oscillator effect that generates hundreds of waveforms for extremely thick and fat sounds.
Filters, Amp, and LFOs
The Filter section features six filter types, including an accurate emulation of the transistor ladder filter found in the legendary Mini. The filter is equipped with an ADSR envelope for ultimate control over the filter effect. The Wave 2 also features a dedicated LFO with a choice of waveforms for each layer, vibrato plus AD/AR modulation envelope with velocity setting, and invert mode. The amp section is equipped with a full ADSR envelope, including a transient attack mode that adds a defined punch to your sound.
Morphing and Impulse Morph
The Wave 2 features an extensive range of morphable parameters, including LFO amount, oscillator control, filter, and effects that can be controlled from four different sources. Velocity, aftertouch, wheel, and control pedal controls accurately affect the parameters. All the morph sources can be assigned to control multiple parameters simultaneously.
Polyphonic Arpeggiator
The Nord Wave 2 also features an arpeggiator with both classic and polyphonic modes. These patterns will trigger all held keys featuring differing inversions for exciting harmonic variations. The gate mode chops the audio up into a rhythmic pattern, which can be user-edited for further customization.
Effects Section
The independent effects section allows you to apply stereo effects, including tremolo, pan, ring modulator, chorus, ensemble, and vibe. These high-quality effects are all controllable via a pedal or can be synchronized to the master clock for rhythmic effects. Other effects include advanced stereo delay effects with ping pong mode, analog mode, and tap tempo. Various reverbs are available, ranging from dark to bright and varying room sizes.
Specifications
The Nord Wave 2 has 16 x 25 (400) locations for memory programs (single sounds). It features two outputs for audio, a headphones output, and high-resolution low-noise 24 bit DACs. Other connections include 2 Line Level Audio Outputs (¼”, 6,35 mm jacks, unbalanced), a stereo headphone output (¼”, 6,35 mm stereo jack), a sustain pedal (¼”, 6,35 mm jack), a
