The Korg microKORG XL+ Synthesizer/Vocoder is a compact and powerful keyboard that delivers fat, unique sounds in a design that is both futuristic and retro. With its 128 sounds, including lush analog modeled synth sounds, piano sounds from Korg’s classic stage piano, vintage tape-type string and flute machines, and selected sounds from keyboard history, the microKORG XL+ is perfect for both band use and as a main or secondary keyboard.

The microKORG XL+ features Korg’s analog technology, MMT (Multiple Modeling Technology), which provides two oscillators that generate powerful sounds that cannot be imitated on typical PCM synths, such as cross modulation, unison, and VPM. Adding modulation with oscillator 2 allows for the creation of complex and powerful sounds. The microKORG XL+ also boasts 17 powerful effect types, including delay, echo, ring modulator, and grain shifter, which can be synchronized to MIDI clock for a wide range of possibilities in live performances.

The microKORG XL+’s new natural touch mini keyboard offers an improved playing feel compared to previous models, with adjusted key proportions for easier chord playing and refined touch for greater ease when playing rapid phrases. The keyboard’s sophisticated waterfall-type keys are especially helpful when playing a glissando.

The microKORG XL+ features an improved XL+ genre selector that allows for an additional selection of genres to fit today’s modern, fast-paced music scene, making it easier to find the program to match your song. The sound selector allows you to choose your sounds using two large dials named “music genre” and “instrument category.”

The microKORG XL+ also functions as a powerful vocoder that can provide hours of fun. Connect a microphone and use its audio input to shape the tone of the oscillator’s sound to create “talking” effects. The 16-band filter bank simulates vocoder sounds of the past and gives a wealth of experimental options. The gooseneck microphone is included with the keyboard so you can start experimenting straight away.

The microKORG XL+ is highly portable, with the option to either take advantage of the included AC adapter or run it on six AA alkaline batteries. It is a mere 22 inches long and 4.4 lbs. in weight, making it perfect for performances on the go. Connecting the microKORG XL+ to your computer through USB allows you to use the sound editor software and edit all the parameters easily from your computer. You can also download preset program data from the microKORG and the MS2000/MS200B free of charge to gain access to even more programs.

Overall, the Korg microKORG XL+ Synthesizer/Vocoder is a versatile and powerful keyboard that delivers unique, fat sounds in a compact, stylish design. Whether you’re a professional musician or a hobbyist, the microKORG XL+ is sure to impress.
