Introducing the Kawai CA49 Digital Piano Package in Premium Rosewood, perfect for diving into the world of Concert Artist pianos. The CA49 is Kawai’s entry-level option in their premium CA range, boasting the same Grand Feel Compact wooden keyboard action as previous models but with some fantastic upgrades. The CA49 now features Onkyo hardware, ensuring an excellent sound quality from one of the best audio manufacturers in the world. This digital piano also has a new OLED control panel and enhanced award-winning Shigeru Kawai grand piano sounds that are more natural and realistic than ever. The CA49 has a new cabinet design for a more impressive and premium appearance.
Premium Wooden Keyboard Action
One of the most important parts of a digital piano is the keyboard action. The CA49 utilises Kawai’s latest Grand Feel Compact keyboard action, drawing upon 90 years of piano craftsmanship to provide a scintillating playing experience. All of the 88 black and white keys are crafted from long pieces of wood with textured Ivory Touch key surfaces. Each key rests on a balance pin and moves with a smooth seesaw-like motion, just like an acoustic grand piano keyboard. The Grand Feel Compact action also features grade-weighted hammers, bass region counterweights, and let-off simulation. There is even a triple-sensor key detection system enabling rapidly repeated notes to be performed without any unnatural break in the sound.
The Choice of World-Class Pianos
The CA49 features the sounds of the SK-EX and EX Shigeru Kawai grand pianos, renowned for their outstanding tonal clarity and exceptional dynamic range. Professional pianists often select these pianos for prestigious events such as international piano competitions. All 88 keys of the SK-EX and EX concert grand pianos were painstakingly recorded, then accurately reproduced as high-fidelity digital waveforms, preserving the grand pianos’ unique harmonic character. The CA49 also includes 19 high-quality tones from all over the world, including electric pianos, organs, strings, choirs, and synths. For extra experimentation, the CA49 features Dual playing mode, which enables you to play two different sounds at the same time, such as a piano and strings. The CA49 even includes a Four Hands mode, which divides the keyboard into two separate keyboards, a must-have for teachers.
PiaBookPlayer – Kawai’s Brand New App
With Kawai’s brand new PiaBookPlayer app, you can instantly listen to the notated scores of the lesson songs and practise pieces built into your digital piano via the Shigeru grand piano sound. The wireless Bluetooth MIDI feature built into this piano enables you to listen to your favourite classical piano music from the comfort of your armchair. The app also allows you to use the piano’s soft or sostenuto pedals for hands-free page-turning. To unlock all of the PiaBookPiano features, make sure you’ve got the latest software update on your Kawai piano.
Onkyo Collaboration
Kawai’s collaboration with audio company Onkyo ensures the CA49 has impressive tonal depth. Premium components deliver professional-level audio, producing an extremely clear sound with minimal distortion. Even the speakers in the CA49 were designed to produce a flat frequency response to guarantee accurate reproduction of the Kawai SK-EX grand piano.
