Kawai’s flagship Concert Artist piano has been improved with the new CA99 digital piano, offering a grand piano experience in an upright body. The CA99 features the new Grand Feel III wooden-key keyboard action, providing a more authentic and faster playing experience.
Improved Sound System
The CA99 boasts a new and improved sound system, including the TwinDrive Spruce soundboard system and speaker diffuser panels for a naturally immersive experience. Kawai has collaborated with Onkyo to produce specialist components for filtering, amplification, and speaker technology. The CA99 faithfully reproduces the unique harmonic characteristics of the Shigeru SK-EX concert grand piano, resulting in a premium piano sound.
TwinDrive Soundboard Speaker
What sets the CA99 apart from other digital pianos is its TwinDrive soundboard speaker system, which channels the sound energy on the large soundboard to embrace the harmonics of wood. The system features dedicated low and mid-range transducers designed by Onkyo for exceptional sound quality. The bass transducer is positioned at the bottom of the cabinet for a realistic frequency resonance, while the speaker diffuser panels spread the sound for a more immersive listening experience.
Onkyo Collaboration
Kawai’s collaboration with Onkyo results in impressive tonal depth, with 1-bit DSD processing for improved power efficiency and reduced distortion. The CA99 benefits from Onkyo’s dual DACs with stereo sound and precision response to your playing. The DIDRC filter technology removes high frequencies and static noise, producing a more natural sound. The power amplifiers are capable and energy-efficient for reduced background noise.
Integrated App Technology
The new PianoRemote app from Kawai puts you in control of the CA99, connecting to the piano via Bluetooth MIDI. You can adjust settings, change sounds, and enjoy built-in music from the comfort of your armchair using the modern and intuitive interface.
SK-EX Sound Engine
The CA99 features a sound engine that faithfully recreates the tone of an acoustic piano, sampled from multiple sections of its cabinet for an organic and accurate tone. The sound engine includes electric and acoustic pianos, organs, strings, and more, with the option to layer and split sounds. The Virtual Technician allows you to adjust characteristics such as key volume, damper noise, and touch curve.
Recording, Hi-Fi, and Bluetooth
The CA99 has modern functions, including the ability to connect to an iOS or Android device for a home audio experience and to use apps for learning, playing along, and composing. You can record with Bluetooth MIDI and access Kawai’s brand-new PiaBookPlayer app for listening to classical piano music or viewing notated scores of lesson songs and practice pieces.
